Ubisoft has officially confirmed Watch Dogs 2. The sequel will be released on November 15, 2016 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Confirming previous rumors, the sequel will leave the original’s
setting of Chicago in favor of Ubisoft’s recreation of the San
Francisco, which will also include parts of Oakland and Silicon Valley.
Watch Dogs 2 sets aside Aiden Pearce in favor of a new anti-hero
named Marcus Holloway, a kid raised in Oakland who was incorrectly
profiled by ctOS 2.0. Marcus is much more nimble than Aiden, as
evidenced in his use of parkour.
We recently visited Ubisoft Montreal for a more in-depth look at
Watch Dogs 2, its main character, and its change in tone. Expect a lot
more from Watch Dogs 2 next week at E3, specifically Ubisoft's press
conference at 1pm on Monday, June 13.
We scored the original Watch Dogs an 8.5 back in 2014, calling it an,
“...excellent open-world action game with some unique hacking-magic
that makes it a memorable experience.”
